Uses of Solar Power

I wish to replace the use of two 1.5V AAA batteries in an RC car by connecting a 6V, 50mA solar panel. What do I need to do in converting the voltage from the solar panel down to the voltage normally given off by the batteries? My electronics knowledge is deeply embedded in my memory and I don’t remember exactly what the formulas and circuit that’s needed. Thanks in advance for your help.8

You would use a switching buck converter.
