   Solar panels makes hot water.Also make electric if equip ted with the right mylar coated film. You can research it in more detail and may want to build your own i hear you can save a lot.
   but do your due diligence first.

   They are the same thing. Photovoltaic panels absorb energy from the sun into the solar panels.

   Photovoltaic Solar Panels produce photovoltaic electricity.

   Solar water heating collectors are sometimes called solar panels as well, so there are multiple types of solar panels.
